Protection of the Public
In fulfilling its duty to regulate the practice of the profession of psychology, the College investigates complaints about the professional services provided by psychologists and psychological associates. A description of the Complaints Process is available as an Online Resource (below) as is a copy of a Complaint Form that can be used in outlining the concern.
Before lodging a formal complaint with the College, it may be useful to first discuss the issues with the psychologist or psychological associate concerned. In some circumstances, psychologists and psychological associates may be unaware of the concerns and may wish to try to resolve them directly.
One might also wish to contact the College and speak with an investigator from the Investigations and Resolutions team before sending in a formal complaint. The investigator may be able to provide some important information and suggestions to consider regarding how one might wish to proceed.
