Introduction

The Members of the College section contains information primarily of interest to psychologists and psychological associates.  This information is directed toward autonomous practice members as well as those in interim autonomous or supervised practice. 


Standards of Professional Conduct 

The revised Standards of Professional Conduct went into effect in September 2005.  Members of the College of Psychologists are required to adhere to the Standards in the course of practicing the profession.  For the purposes of Ontario Regulation 801/93 Professional Misconduct, section 1.2, these Standards are to be considered the "standards of the profession".


Professional Practice Resources 

There are a variety of documents pertaining to the practise of psychology in Ontario with which members should be familiar.  These include the Regulations made under the Psychology Act, 1991, the Standards of Professional Conduct, in both English and French, as well as information on other important topics.


Autonomous Practice: Registration 

There are a variety of materials that members holding certificates of autonomous practice will find of value.  This includes information pertaining to supervision of both supervised practice members as well as non-regulated providers.  In addition there is information regarding Registration issues which pertain to autonomous practice members.


Mobility Of Members 

Autonomous Practice members who are considering practising psychology in another jurisdiction in Canada or the United States will find this section describing the mobility provisions to be of interest.


Privacy 

In 2003, the College of Psychologists joined with the other Federation of Health Regulatory Colleges of Ontario to prepare a Guide to the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
